In Japan, texting is a big part (and often the first step) of any relationship, and instead of using recipient's phone number as 'address', they text through email, which can be received by both phone and computer. So, rather than asking for phone number, which could be a bit too forward in Japan, one would ask for email address, in the hope of beginning a relationship, with the sentence below:

メールアドレスを教えてもらえませんか? Can you tell me your email address?
meeru adoresu doka... oshie de moraemasen ka?

1. メールアドレス: mail address, you know how they have a funny way of pronouncing foreign words...
2. を:direct object marker, ご飯を食べる(gohan o taberu); rice, direct object marker, eat; aka eat rice. お水を飲む(omuzi o nomu); water, direct object marker, drink; aka drink water.
3. 教え:literally means teach, but it's a polite way of saying "tell" in Japan. So メールアドレスを教え means "teach me (your) mail address", aka "tell me your mail address".
4. ...てもらえませんか: a polite way of asking for something, roughly translated as "Can't I have...?" Can also use the sentence from last journal: "ていただけませんか?"

Modify it for other uses:
電話番号(denwabangou/phone number) を教えてもらえませんか? Can you tell me your phone number?
気持ち(kimochi/feeling) を教えてもらえませんか? Can you tell me your feeling (for me)?

I encourage you to be creative and use this sentence in your comment for this journal:]
